Erik Cressman, PhD, MD, FSIR, is a physician scientist and tenured Associate Professor in Interventional Radiology at MD Anderson Cancer Center. He is a funded NIH researcher, a charter member of the Image Guided Interventions and Surgery study section of the National Institutes of Health, past president of the Society for Thermal Medicine, and a section editor for the International Journal of Hyperthermia. He served two terms as chair of the Research, Grants, and Education Division at the SIR Foundation, and presently serves as the Workshop Chair for the SIR annual meeting. He has also served as Director of the John S. Dunn Center for Radiologic Sciences at MD Anderson and the Chemical Imaging Research Core. He has received numerous awards and published numerous papers in the field of interventional radiology and mentored many students, residents, fellows, postdocs and junior faculty, a number of whom have gone on to receive their own awards.
