Dr. Khilnani is a Professor of Clinical Radiology at the Weill Cornell Medicine in New York and an Attending at the New York Presbyterian Hospital. He is in the Division of Interventional Radiology and works in the Weill Cornell Vein Center. He is Editor for the journal Phlebology, President of the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine and a Past President of the American Vein and Lymphatic Society.
He is a member of a multi-disciplinary Pelvic Venous Disorder Workgroup that includes vascular specialists and gynecologists with the goal of advancing the evidence regarding pelvic venous disorders and chronic pelvic pain. His current research within the workgroup includes developing a patient reported outcomes measure to assess the impact of treatments for chronic pelvic pain of a venous etiology. This project is funded by the SIR Foundation. He is also part of a team preparing a grant application to support a randomized controlled single blinded trial to assess the impact of ovarian vein embolization in women with chronic pelvic pain. He is also participating in a cohort study attempting to validate composite clinical and transvaginal ultrasound criteria for identifying women with chronic pelvic pain of a venous etiology.
