Charles Y. Kim MD, FSIR is the Chief of Interventional Radiology and Professor of Radiology at Duke University Medical Center as well as the Director of the Duke IR Translational Research Laboratory. After completing undergraduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania, he obtained his MD degree at Columbia University. He then completed surgery internship at Yale, diagnostic radiology residency at Duke, and IR fellowship at Duke and St. Lukes-Roosevelt Hospital. His clinical interests include management of central venous pathology, complex gastrointestinal interventions, and interventional oncologic therapies. As a prior recipient of funding from the RSNA and NIH, his research interests include a wide variety of areas within IR, with focus on exploring mechanisms and potentiation of oncologic therapies as well as exploration of novel embolization therapies.
