Robert Morgan underwent radiology training at Plymouth and St George’s Hospitals. He trained in interventional radiology at the University of Texas, and at Guy’s and St Thomas’s Hospitals.
After three years as a consultant at St Mary’s Hospital, London, Robert Morgan became Consultant Interventional Radiologist at St George’s in 1999.
Robert Morgan is Professor of Interventional Radiology and Consultant Radiologist at St George’s University of London and St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Robert Morgan’s research and clinical interests are the imaging and the endovascular treatment of aortic and peripheral vascular disease; and non-oncologic embolization including haemorrhage, visceral artery aneurysms and endoleaks.
Robert Morgan was instrumental in the creation of the European Board of Interventional Radiology examination (EBIR), which is taken by interventional radiologists worldwide.
Robert Morgan has written over 185 peer-reviewed articles, edited four books, written 47 book chapters, and delivered over 320 invited lectures.
Robert Morgan has been President of the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology Society of Europe (CIRSE); is the current Vice-President of the British Society of Interventional Radiology (BSIR) and is the Deputy Editor-in-Chief for the scientific journal “CVIR Endovascular”
Robert Morgan was awarded the Gold Medal of the British Society of Interventional Radiology in 2020.
